Orlando Information
The Orlando area has attracted more than one million residents in the past 20 years and is now the 27th largest metro area in the nation. The area has a population of almost 2 million in its MSA, which consist of Orange Seminole Osceola and Lake Counties
Orange County has more than one million residents itself, with about 200,000 living in the city of Orlando. The population of Orlando has become younger as it has grown, with a median age of just 36.5. Besides the fantastic weather (annual average temperature is 82 degrees), our low cost of living continues to attract new residents to Orlando.
The list of major employers is still led by Walt Disney World (56,800 jobs) followed by Florida Hospital (19,220), Universal Orlando (8,946). The Orange County Public School is the largest government employer with 24,063 employees. Overall, the area is home to more than 200 private and public schools, three colleges/universities and three community colleges.
